Clear Skin Program for Acne

Acne is often a telltale sign that there is an imbalance within the body. Because your skin is a two-sided organ, oftentimes skincare products alone are not enough to keep your skin clear long-term. After years of studying acne, I’ve set up a holistic acne program to clear your skin by addressing your diet, lifestyle, and skincare regimen. Holistic Facials and Acne Scarring Treatment

Are you ready to age vibrantly? My holistic facials focus on nourishing and supporting the skin in ways that procedures like Botox and fillers cannot. Each treatment is fully customized to meet your skin's unique needs, promoting collagen and elastin production for a radiant complexion. These facials are also effective against acne scarring due to their collagen-boosting properties. The modalities I frequently use include:

  • LED light therapy

  • CO2 Carboxy

  • Microchanneling

  • Ultrasound

  • Microcurrent

  • Fascia manipulation

  • Skin-nourishing face masks, enzymes, and essences

*Services are not taxed and we do not accept tips or gratuities.

mikura’s skincare method

What makes my treatment method different?

During our initial consultation, we will discuss your skin and health history, current skincare regimen, and your specific goals. I will then assess your skin under a magnifying lamp to determine the steps needed to help you achieve those goals.

I employ a corneotherapeutic approach, which means I do not perform or recommend deep chemical peels, lasers, dermaplaning, or microdermabrasion. These procedures can induce inflammation, leading to premature aging, loss of skin integrity, and other issues that may require more time and resources to address. With the advanced technologies and skincare products available today, invasive procedures are often unnecessary.

The health of your corneocytes—the protective cells that comprise the outermost layer of the skin—is crucial for long-term skin maintenance. You can think of these cells as the roof of a house, shielding the underlying “baby” cells from toxins, pollutants, and UV damage. When these important cells are removed, the vulnerable cells beneath can become unhealthy.

Instead of focusing on aggressive treatments that compromise these protective skin cells, I offer a holistic approach guided by corneotherapy principles. My methods include gentle enzyme peels, fascia manipulation, nourishing plant extracts, advanced skin devices, and personalized home care recommendations. Together, these treatments support the skin and address your unique concerns.

What is corneotherapy?

“Corneotherapy is a remedial skin treatment methodology with its core principle being the repair and maintenance of the skin barrier defense systems. As the name suggests, Corneotherapy is closely related to Corneobiology, which is the physiological, biologic and biochemical processes of the stratum corneum; the outermost layer of the epidermis.”

It is now widely understood that the outer layer of corneocytes of the stratum corneum is a biologically active cellular tissue. The co-inventor of Retin-A, U.S. dermatologist Dr Albert Kligman, and his partners discovered that the stratum corneum, and the lipid barrier that keeps it intact, play a significant role in skin health; it can send many signals to the underlying living epidermis and influences the regenerative processes in deeper layers of the skin. This understanding of skin health, along with appropriate interventions and topical treatments is an ensemble of therapies that Dr Kligman labeled “Corneotherapy.”

About Naomi

Welcome to my practice! I’m Naomi Kurata, a dedicated holistic esthetician with a passion for helping others achieve clear, healthy skin. My journey into esthetics began with my own battle with severe acne during middle school. Frustrated by the lack of effective solutions from traditional dermatologists, I took matters into my own hands. Determined to heal my skin, I pursued education in holistic skincare, discovering the profound impact that diet and lifestyle have on our skin.

My turning point came during my annual trips to Japan. Each year, my skin would visibly improve during my three-month stays, revealing a crucial connection between my environment and my skin's health. This realization inspired me to become a licensed esthetician in 2017, with a mission to address not just the symptoms, but the root causes of skin issues.

My philosophy is simple yet profound: everything is interconnected. I believe that skin problems are often a reflection of internal imbalances, and that true healing requires a holistic approach. By addressing the underlying factors that contribute to skin concerns, I aim to help my clients not only achieve clearer skin but also regain their confidence and well-being.

At my practice, I am committed to offering personalized care tailored to each individual's unique needs. Whether you're struggling with acne, dryness, or other skin challenges, I am here to guide you on your journey to healthier, more radiant skin. Let’s work together to uncover the root causes and transform your skin into a source of confidence and pride.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to helping you achieve your skincare goals!

The Meaning of Mikura

The last two letters of my first name, and the first four of my last, Mikura also has meaning in Japanese. “Mi” means real, truth, or beauty, and “kura” means cellar.
